When I painted this I thought it looked great. I liked the subtle colors the strong shapes, high contrast, sense of depth, and it reminds me of Northern Utah where I grew up.
Here is what it looked like after I thought it was finished:

I sent it off to a show in Utah and didn't look at it for about a year. Once I got it back, I couldn't resist working on it some more. So I pumped up the color, softened the background, added some texture to the foreground, and softened all my edges quite a bit. Here's what it looks like now:
