Drive south from Jenner

If you haven't driven the coastline from Jenner to Bodega Bay in Sonoma county, you really need to.

Here's a little painting I completed after we did the drive this last summer.

View of Pleasant Valley

When I painted this I thought it looked great. I liked the subtle colors the strong shapes, high contrast, sense of depth, and it reminds me of Northern Utah where I grew up.

Here is what it looked like after I thought it was finished:

I sent it off to a show in Utah and didn't look at it for about a year. Once I got it back, I couldn't resist working on it some more. So I pumped up the color, softened the background, added some texture to the foreground, and softened all my edges quite a bit. Here's what it looks like now:

Audreys' Trade

Back before I married Jordan, I traded her roommate a painting for a gourmet dinner. I still really love this painting.

Hey Audrey, I'm still waiting for my dinner :)

Another late night in the studio

I think I might be getting too old to stay up really late and still feel OK the next day :(

Here's the painting right after I finished roughly drawing it in.

Here it is finished. The glare from the florescent lights above aren't helping any, but I swear it looks sweet in person.

12"x16" oil on mounted linen

If anyone has a good name for this one, please speak up. I was up on the east bench of the Petaluma valley off of Lakeville Road.

Rain Rain Rain

I thought my new office window would be nice. But it's mostly just made me mildly depressed.
